This image contains mariadb v10.5.5 and made the source code freely available under the MIT⁠.

⁠Images includes

• mariadb10.5.5: mariadb official image

⁠Environments

• MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD : Root password
• MYSQL_DATABASE : database name
• MYSQL_USER : non root user
• MYSQL_PASSWORD: user password to access db

⁠Usage

• Initial Setup - mount initial setp .sql or .sh file onto /docker-entrypoint-initdb.d directory
• Data retention - Always create volumes or mount volume to /var/lib/mysql.
• Create dumps - docker exec container_name sh -c 'exec mysqldump --all-databases -uroot -p"$MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD"' > /local_dir/all-databases.sql
• Restore from dump - docker exec -i container_name sh -c 'exec mysql -uroot -p"$MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD"' < /local_dir/all-databases.sql
