Here are some example snippets you can use to start your SQL4automation container. Just copy and paste them into your terminal (CTRL+SHIFT+V)
On systems with amd64 or i386
docker run -itd \
--net host \
--device /dev/bus/usb \
--volume ~/docker/s4a:/var/log/SQL4automation \
--name s4a \
--restart always \
inasoft/s4a:latest
On systems with armhf (for example a Raspberry Pi 4)
docker run -itd \
--net host \
--device /dev/bus/usb \
--volume ~/docker/s4a:/var/log/SQL4automation \
--name s4a \
--restart always \
inasoft/s4a:armhf_v4.0.0.6
On systems with amd64 or i386
version: '3.6'
services:
#SQL4automation Connector service
s4a:
container_name: s4a
image: inasoft/s4a:latest
restart: always
devices:
- /dev/bus/usb:/dev/bus/usb
volumes:
- ~/docker/s4a:/var/log/SQL4automation
network_mode: host
stdin_open: true
On systems with armhf (for example a Raspberry Pi 4)
Change the image in the above command to "inasoft/s4a:armhf_v4.0.0.6"
e.g. inasoft/s4a:latest -> inasoft/s4a:armhf_v4.0.0.6
The container images can be configured using these parameters.
| Parameter | Function |
|---|---|
| --net=host | Use the same network as the host |
| --device=/dev/bus/usb | Allow the container to access your USB devices (only needed for license dongle) |
| --volume=~/docker/s4a:/var/log/SQL4automation | Mounts the config files of the connector to the directory ~/docker/s4a (you can use any directory you like) |
| --name=s4a | Name the container "s4a" |
| --restart=always | Automatically restart the container if it stops |
To run the container in bridge network mode, you need to manually expose the needed ports. The parameter "-p" links the specified internal ports to the specified external ports (external:internal)

Assuming you named the SQL4automation container "s4a"
