Quick Start

Use the following steps to use the VisiWin 7 Cross-Platform runtime with Docker Desktop on Windows

Prepare a folder for data storage on the host

The components use externally mounted folders for data storage (project files, logs, license, ...). For this, a folder must be created in the file system on the host. On Windows e.g. here: c:\programdata\docker\volumes\visiwinruntime

Pull the image

Navigate to a tag of the "VisiWin 7 Cross-Platform runtime" on docker hub and copy the pull command to the clipboard. After that you can paste the command to the command prompt of the host machine and execute it. This will download the image to the host.

Start a container

Run the following command to start a container:

docker run -d -t -v c:\programdata\docker\volumes\visiwinruntime:/mnt/visiwin7 -p 7102:7100 -p 7080:7080 -p 7443:7443 inosofthmi/visiwin7-runtime-7.3:#tag

Note: #tag must be replaced with the tag of the previously downloaded image.

Transfer and run a project

You can now use the VisiWin 7 development environment to transfer VisiWin 7 projects of type "Cross-Platform Server" and "Web UI" to the container.

The componentes inside the container can be accessed over the following endpoints:

ApplicationEndpointDescription
Server Manager[host ip]:7102Configure this port in the VisiWin 7 IDE under Target Device Manager → Connection Port.
Web Server (http)[host ip]:7080Unsecured Web Server endpoint that provides the list of available Web UI projects.
Web Server (https)[host ip]:7443Secured Web Server endpoint (TLS) that provides the list of available Web UI projects.

Details on the project transfer are described in the VisiWin 7 online help.
