Intel® DL Streamer Edge AI Extension

The Intel® DL Streamer Edge AI Extension is a microservice based on DL Streamer Pipeline Server that provides video analytics pipelines built with OpenVINO DL Streamer. Developers can send decoded video frames to the AI Extension which performs detection, classification, or tracking and returns the results. The AI Extension exposes gRPC and HTTP APIs that are compatible with Azure Video Analyzer (AVA). Powered by OpenVINO toolkit, the AI Extension enables developers to build, optimize and deploy deep learning inference workloads for maximum performance across Intel® architectures.

IMPORTANT: Intel® DL Streamer - Edge AI Extension is provided as a pre-production preview. Developers deploying the Edge AI Extension should review it against their production requirements.

Running Docker container

Docker must be given access to the gRPC port, which is 5001 by default. Shared memory is enabled by volume mounting /dev/shm.

$ docker run -p 5001:5001 -v /dev/shm:/dev/shm intel/dlstreamer-edge-ai-extension:latest

Enable GPU inference by giving docker access to device /dev/dri.

NOTE: Ubuntu20 hosts need extra docker options to access GPU

$ docker run -p 5001:5001 -v /dev/shm:/dev/shm --device /dev/dri intel/dlstreamer-edge-ai-extension:latest
