PMDrop

PMDrop is a self-hosted LAN file transfer server built for fast local sharing between devices.

The goal is simple: open the browser, discover nearby devices, and transfer files directly over your local network without uploading anything to the cloud.

PMDrop is powered by FastAPI for the backend and WebRTC for direct peer-to-peer transfers.

Features

  • Direct browser-to-browser transfers
  • Folder drag and drop
  • File transfer history
  • Device discovery
  • Persistent storage
  • Docker support
  • Raspberry Pi compatible
  • Multi-architecture images (AMD64 & ARM64)

Run with Docker

docker run -d \
  --name pmdrop \
  --restart unless-stopped \
  -p 8000:8000 \
  -v pmdrop_data:/app/backend/data \
  -v pmdrop_storage:/app/backend/storage \
  irfanuruchi/pmdrop:latest

Then open:

http://localhost:8000

or

http://<server-ip>:8000

Data

PMDrop stores its SQLite database and uploaded files in Docker volumes.

pmdrop_data
pmdrop_storage

This allows updating the container without losing your data.

Supported Architectures

  • linux/amd64
  • linux/arm64

Docker automatically pulls the correct image for your system.
