This is an upgraded version of reimashi/emule⁠ based on his GitHub repository⁠.

The original version had the eMule configuration files inside the container, and important files such as servers.met, known.met or clients.met would be lost and recreated every time the container was recreated. I have made some changes so that the configuration files are in a volume and therefore, persistent. If the configuration volume is found to be empty (first time being used), base configuration files are deployed.

⁠Run it

Typical example:

docker run -d -p 4711:4711 -p 23732:23732/tcp -p 23733:23733/udp -p 8080:8080 -v /path/to/emule/data:/data -v /path/to/emule/config:/app/config --name emule jamacucos/emule

with environment variables for custom ports and custom web UI password:

docker run -d -p 4711:4711 -p 28998:28998/tcp -p 28999:28999/udp -p 8080:8080 -v /path/to/emule/data:/data -v /path/to/emule/config:/app/config --name emule -e EMULE_TCP_PORT=28998 -e EMULE_UDP_PORT=28999 -e WEB_PASS=6B9E1AA3A37E3B106A190C7C3BFC6C54 jamacucos/emule

The hashed web UI password can be determined by changing it in the eMule UI (via VNC) and then examining the preferences.ini file to find it:

Added environment variables VNC_WIDTH and VNC_HEIGHT to optionally adjust the dimensions of the VNC display. Example use:

• UID: UNIX user ID used to create files (Default: root)
• GID: UNIX group ID used to create files (Default: root)
• EMULE_NICK: User nickname (Default: https://emule-project.net⁠)
• EMULE_MAX_UPLOAD: Max upload speed (Default: 50000, 50Mbps)
• EMULE_TCP_PORT: TCP port (Default: 23732)
• EMULE_UDP_PORT: TCP port (Default: 23733)
• EMULE_LANGUAGE: UI language code. (Default: 1033)
• EMULE_CAP_UPLOAD: Upload capacity (Default: 1000000, 1Gbps)
• EMULE_CAP_DOWNLOAD: Download capacity (Default: 1000000, 1Gbps)
• EMULE_RECONNECT: Automatic reconnect (Default: 1)
• EMULE_UPDATE_FROM_SERVER: Update server list from other servers (Default: 1)
• EMULE_HOSTNAME: Server hostname (Default: )
• WEB_PASS: Web UI password hash (Default: 19A2854144B63A8F7617A6F225019B12, admin)
• WEB_PORT: Web UI port (Default: 4711)
• VNC_WIDTH: VNC session width (Default: 1024) (new in v1.2)
