Docker build for SCHISM model (https://github.com/schism-dev/schism⁠). The tag version corresponds to the SCHISM tag versions. For the latest build, use the latest tag. Latest tags are not built for each push to schism/dev, rather on a best-effort basis. As SCHISM does not make new releases, additional tags might be added in case of breaking changes in the future.

SCHISM is always compiled as a single executable, with modules baked in the executables. Thus, it is necessary to build different executables for different modules and their combinations. To reduce building burden, only three modules are compiled - SCHISM/Core, WWM, PREC_EVAP.

Currently, available model executables are -

To run the container, use the following commands from -

• From the terminal on Linux/Mac: docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/mnt jamal919/schism:tag mpirun -np no_core Executable nscribe
• From powershell on Windows: docker run --rm -v ${pwd}:/mnt jamal919/schism:tag mpirun -np no_core Executable nscribe

Here, replace Executable with the executable you want to run from the above table. For SCHISM > v5.10 (OLDIO=off), nscribe is the number of scribe cores for writing output, see documentation for further detail. Replace also no_core with the desired number of cores you want to use.

All the supplementary/auxiliary programs are also compiled (e.g., combine_gr3, check_bnd). Those can also be accessed the same way above by replacing the Executable name.
