jamesorlakin/multiarch-glusterfs repository overview

Literally just Ubuntu Focal (18.04 LTS) with an apt-get of glusterfs for amd64 and arm64. Has CMD set to run glusterd, at which point you'll want to spawn a shell or get it invited to an existing pool.

Usage

...however you like! I'm intending this for a home Kubernetes cluster. The following is important:

  • Ensure /var/lib/glusterfs is in a volume. This is the cluster member state.
  • Also ensure any bricks live on Docker volumes and not just ephemerally (it won't self-heal if the container is recreated)
  • Run the container as privileged so that it can use extended attributes for brick creation
  • Allow containers to have a known hostname that's resolveable with DNS
