⁠Docker/Python CI image

Minimal Python⁠ images for testing Ansible⁠ collections.

⁠Supported Tags (with Dockerfile links)

• 1.0-alpine⁠

• 1.0-alpine-docker⁠

⁠Description

Both flavors of this image contain the following Python versions installed at /usr/local/bin/pythonX.Y:

• 3.8
• 3.9
• 3.10
• 3.11
• 3.12

Additionally, the -alpine-docker image contains the Docker cli tools for interacting with a Docker daemon (primarily within GitLab CI/CD pipelines). The intended usage would be to create a Python virtualenv for the target Python version, and use that to perform CI tasks. For example:

mkdir "${CI_PROJECT_PATH}/.venvs"
/usr/local/bin/python3.12 -m venv "${CI_PROJECT_PATH}/.venvs/3.12"
source "${CI_PROJECT_PATH}/.venvs/3.12/bin/activate"
python -m pip install -U pip
python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
