JeKa Container for Docker

This image aims at running JeKa tool from a container.

Execute JeKa in a sandboxed environment, without needing to install it.

Or perform JeKa tasks that should only be executed on a Linux system (such as creating Java native image for containers).

For this, execute :

docker run -v $HOME/.jeka/cache4c:/cache -v .:/workdir jekadev/jeka [JEKA ARGUMENTS]

Where:

  • -v $HOME/.jeka/cache4c:/cache tells jeka to use a specific cache when running with container, as JDK or other tools cached by Jeka may differ from the ones used by the host system.

  • -v .:/workdir lets Jeka operate in the current directory of the host machine

  • [JEKA ARGUMENTS] stands for regular jeka arguments you would pass to jeka command line as `project: back' or '--help'.

Examples

Run cowsay program from its github source repo
docker run -v $HOME/.jeka/cache4c:/cache jekadev/jeka -r https://github.com/jeka-dev/demo-cowsay.git -p Hello JeKA

As we don't need to access file system for running this program, we can omit the -v .:/workdir argument.

Build the app from the source code in the current directory.
docker run -v $HOME/.jeka/cache4c:/cache -v .:/workdir jekadev/jeka project: pack
