Automatic streaming provider tagging for Jellyfin using TMDB. Docker‑ready and fully automated.
733
Jellyfin Network Tagger automatically tags your Jellyfin library with streaming network info — Netflix, Max, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Paramount+, and more. It uses TMDB’s provider data to keep your library organized and makes it easy to build automatic network‑based collections.
Detailed Install Documentation can be found on the GitHub: https://github.com/jpwebdude/jellyfin-network-tagger
Perfect for users who love clean metadata, Auto Collections, SmartLists, and KefinTweaks.
What it does:
-Scans your Jellyfin library
Looks up each item on TMDB
Normalizes provider names
Writes clean tags back to Jellyfin
Runs automatically on a schedule
Supports dry‑run mode for safe testing
Works great with:
Auto Collections - Automatically creates collections from your Movies and TV Shows.
SmartLists - Another way of automatically creating collections.
KefinTweaks - then surfaces those collections as rows on your Jellyfin homepage. Highly recommended plugin if you want a true streaming platform feel.
Quick Start:
You can run the tagger using the pre‑built Docker Hub image, but you must create a .env file first.
Without the required environment variables, the container cannot connect to Jellyfin or TMDB.
1. Create .env:
JELLYFIN_URL=http://192.168.x.x:8096
JELLYFIN_API_KEY=your-jellyfin-api-key
TMDB_API_KEY=eyJ...your-tmdb-read-access-token
TMDB_COUNTRY=US
RUN_INTERVAL_HOURS=24
DRY_RUN=true
IGNORE_PROVIDERS=Tubi TV,Pluto TV,Crackle,The Roku Channel,Kanopy,fuboTV,Philo```
2. Pull the image:
docker pull jhosted/jellyfin-network-tagger:latest
3. Run with Docker Compose:
services:
jellyfin-network-tagger:
image: jhosted/jellyfin-network-tagger:latest
container_name: jellyfin-network-tagger
restart: unless-stopped
env_file:
- ./jellyfin-network-tagger/.env
networks:
- media-stack_default
networks:
media-stack_default:
external: true
⚠️ Important:
If Jellyfin uses network_mode: host, set JELLYFIN_URL to your host’s LAN IP.
Host‑mode containers cannot be joined by other containers.
Rundown:
- Create .env with Jellyfin + TMDB credentials
- Pull the image
- Run with Docker Compose
- Watch the logs
- Set DRY_RUN=false when ready
