joeakeem/mc-server repository overview

munich-craft

Spigot Minecraft server and Minecraft Overviewer in a handy Docker image.

The server contains the following additional plugins for world management:

Building

This step is only necessary to build the docker images. If you just want to run the server this step can be skiped.

git clone https://github.com/joe-akeem/munich-craft.git
cd munich-craft
docker-compose build
docker-compose push

Getting & starting the server

To run the Minecraft server and Overviewer just copy the docker-compose.yml file to your target machine and run the following commands from the directory where docker-compose.yml is located:

mkdir -p ~/worlds
mkdir -p ~/map
docker-compose up -d

This will:

  • start a Minecraft server on localhost:25565
  • start a web server with maps of the Minecraft worlds and documentation on http://localhost:8070

Generating the worlds

The configuration for the worlds is already part of the docker image but they must be created. They will be created in the mounted worlds folder (see above). After the first start of the server they must be created however as described in the following sections.

Generate the world 'modern'
/mv create modern normal -g CityWorld:Normal
/wb set 1000
/wb fill
/wb fill confirm

Switching between worlds

The following command lists all available worlds:

/mv list

To teleport e.g. to the world 'modern' type:

mv tp modern

Adding new users to the whitelist

  1. lookup the user's UUID at https://mcuuid.net/

  2. Add the user in whitelist.json

  3. Add a new file for the user to mc-server/plugins/LuckPerms/yaml-storage/users

  4. re-run docker-compose build and restart the server
