This base image includes ssh, nano, vi, python 2 & 3, pip 2 & 3, numpy, scipy, pandas, matplotlib, java 8, julia, sqlite, mysql, git, maven, node,js, npm, scala, sbt, and R. This is my base image for building other ubuntu based dockers, and is the basis for my hadoop docker.

To launch a container and map the $HOME on the host to the internal folder /home: docker run --name ubuntu-client -v "$HOME:/home" -it joegagliardo/ubuntu /bin/bash -bash
