Python Flask API for extracting text from image (Optical Character Recognition)

⁠Installing

docker pull johnmakridis/tesseract-ocr-api

⁠Running in detached mode

docker run -d --name tesseract-ocr-api -p 8080:3000 johnmakridis/tesseract-ocr-api:latest 

Now you can access your notebook at http://<docker host IP address>:8080

⁠Usage

• A route is provided to check if the server is up: HTTP GET /status
• A route is provided to get the results from OCR: HTTP POST /ocr-data with image_url in request body
