⁠Ansible Molecule Images for Amazon Linux

This repository contains Ansible Molecule⁠ images for Amazon Linux.

⁠Images

The images in this repository are based on amazonlinux⁠ and include systemd and Python and the according package manager and libraries, making them suitable for testing Ansible roles with Molecule⁠.

⁠Amazon Linux Versions

The repository provides images for the following Amazon Linux variants:

⁠Usage

To use these images in Molecule⁠, reference them in your molecule.yml.

⁠Molecule docker driver

To use the Amazon Linux latest image with the docker driver:

platforms:
  - name: instance
    image: "jomrr/molecule-amazonlinux:latest"
    privileged: true
    pre_build_image: true
    override_command: false
    tmpfs:
      - /run
      - /tmp
    tty: true
    volumes:
      - /sys/fs/cgroup:/sys/fs/cgroup:rw

⁠Molecule podman driver

To use the Amazon Linux latest image with the podman driver:

platforms:
  - name: instance
    image: "docker.io/jomrr/molecule-amazonlinux:latest"
    pre_build_image: true
    override_command: false
    systemd: "true"

This will start a container with Amazon Linux latest and systemd as pid 1, which you can then use for testing your Ansible roles.
