joyel/portapack-mayhem-builder repository overview

Used to easily build portapack-mayhem firmware from this repo or any other as needed :
https://github.com/eried/portapack-mayhem

1st Method (Safest) :
The easiest way to use it if having troubles with volume binding with docker (ex: I have not been able to run it with '-v /localfolder:/havoc' Docker running on Synology NAS) :
docker run -it --name "portapack" joyel/portapack-mayhem-builder
When the bin is generated simply copy it by :
docker cp portapack:/havoc/build/firmware/portapack-h1_h2-mayhem.bin ./

If you want to build an image from your forked source code, I added 2 useful variables : 'repoURL' & 'activeBranch' :
docker run -it --name "portapack" --env repoURL="https://github.com/yourLogin/portapack-mayhem.git" --env activeBranch="yourBranchName" joyel/portapack-mayhem-builder
default values are : repoURL="https://github.com/eried/portapack-mayhem.git" - activeBranch="next"

Once your container has been created, to build the image again, simply start it & copy the bin :
docker start -i portapack
docker cp portapack:/havoc/build/firmware/portapack-h1_h2-mayhem.bin ./

2nd Method :
Create a new folder and enter to this one then :

If you want to build next branch of https://github.com/eried/portapack-mayhem simply run :
docker run -it -v ${PWD}:/havoc joyel/portapack-mayhem-builder

You can specify any git repository you want by entering --env repoURL="yourGitRepoURL"
The default branch if not specified will be 'next' and you can change it by adding : --env activeBranch="yourBranchName"
Example here with 'newapp' branch of my repository https://github.com/joyel24/portapack-mayhem.git :
docker run -it -v ${PWD}:/havoc --env repoURL="https://github.com/joyel24/portapack-mayhem.git" --env activeBranch="newapp" joyel/portapack-mayhem-builder

The fist run may be long before to start depending on you bandwidth as the image is almost 500MB, plus the first git clone then will be even longer for sure.

It will install automatically all needed packages and dependancies, clone any repository you want with a custom branch if needed, configure & build the source code and generate the binary.
Even If the repo is already cloned, when start/run again the container, it will automatically pull the new code from the default or defined repo.
If everything is ok, you will find your binary here 'build/firmware/portapack-h1_h2-mayhem.bin'
