jpsobral/ipodrocks-server repository overview

iPodRocks — Electron Edition

The smart sync manager for Rockbox and any mountable device — now from anywhere. Built with Electron, React, and TypeScript.

šŸ“– Full documentation →

✨ Why iPodRocks?

iPodRocks is a sync manager for Rockbox devices — and any mountable player. Point it at a library you already keep and it handles the rest: transcoding, playlists, album art, podcasts, audiobooks, star ratings and play history, across as many players as you own.

ā šŸŒ Your player no longer has to be plugged into the machine with your music

Run iPodRocks as a server on a NAS, a home server, an old desktop, then open it in a browser from wherever you happen to be. Plug your player into that laptop, point the browser at its folder, and sync it to the library sitting at home.

It also runs headless: a plain daemon with no Electron, published on Docker Hub as jpsobral/ipodrocks-server (amd64 + arm64, in a minimal distroless or an Alpine flavour), with a docker-compose.yml and a systemd unit.

What is not!

iPodRocks is NOT a library manager. I strongly advise you to use beets and beets-flask as proper library managers (there are other alternatives). Once you library is ready then iPodRocks can sync to multiple RockBox devices.

If you really like iPodRocks and want to keep it caffeinated, you can buy me a coffee — every cup helps keep the development going. Thank you! ā˜•
