kbessonov/irida-dev-server repository overview

This is fully configured IRIDA server instance running on accessible from the host machine. IRIDA is run on port 8181 while Galaxy 19.05 or 18.05 run on port 8080.

Image tag 19.05.1-complete: Galaxy 19.05 + IRIDA 19.05.1 + MariaDB 5.5.64 + Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS (a complete version with all IRIDA pipelines and tools installed. Completely working and tested IRIDA instance)

Image tag 19.05.1: Galaxy 18.05 + IRIDA 19.05.1 + MariaDB 5.5.64 (light version with not all IRIDA pipeline dependencies installed)

Image tag 24.12: Galaxy 22.05 + IRIDA 24.12 + MariaDB 10.6.18 (light version with only clean IRIDA and clean Galaxy with no IRIDA pipelines installed, ideal for plugin development)

Note: To run the IRIDA server instance with automatic loading of all required services please run the following command depending on the tag. Please allocate at least 5GB to run this image as some of the IRIDA pipelines (e.g. SISTR) require at least 4GB of RAM to run successfully to assemble Salmonella genomes.

Note2: Most services are started with the service <service_name> start command. Note that in 24.12 the mysql database service was renamed to service mariadb

Note3: Remember to open ports 8080 and 8181 in Docker containers via the -p docker command line parameter for Galaxy and IRIDA server access from the host machine

# For tags "19.05.1" and "19.05.1-complete"
# Alternatively start up services (SQL, Galaxy, Tomcat7) inside the container via the `/root/start_services.sh` script. Similarly, stop these services via the `/root/stop_services.sh` script
docker run --privileged -p 8080:8080 -p 8181:8181 --name irida-dev-server --rm -i -t "kbessonov/irida-dev-server:19.05.1" /bin/bash -c "service mysql start && service galaxy start && service tomcat7 start && bash"
# For tag 24.12 with the default command "service mariadb start && service galaxy start && service tomcat start"
docker run --privileged -p 8080:8080 -p 8181:8181 --name irida-dev-server --rm -i -t "kbessonov/irida-dev-server:24.12"
