kbessonov/planemo repository overview

This a fully functional Planemo image for easier development of Galaxy wrappers/recipes. Compared to similar docker images this image contains fully installed and updated Galaxy version 20.01 instance on fresh Ubuntu 20.04 release saving you test time and effort. In addition locally installed Galaxy instance allows for manual configuration and testing (e.g. installation of non-standard dependencies, etc.).

#pull image
docker pull kbessonov/planemo:0.70.0

# launch docker image with a mounted local dir containing your recipes for 'on-the-fly' modification. 
#Go to `mnt` directory inside the launched container
docker run -it --rm -v /path/to/dir/with/recipes/:/mnt kbessonov/planemo:0.70.0 bash -c "bash && cd /mnt"

#to test build galaxy recipe using locally installed Galaxy instance
planemo   test --galaxy_root /galaxy/  *.xml

#lint recipe to see if syntax is valid
planemo lint *.xml

If conda environment is needed, start galaxy instance and it will install conda 4.6.14 in /galaxy/database/dependencies
