Dockerized rcon cli client. It can be used for example with Steam servers that have RCON capabilities. If you have problems with this image, you can open issue in github: https://github.com/kerbe/docker-rcon
You get rcon client usage information simply running container:
# docker run -ti --rm kerbe/rcon
Syntax: rcon [-P"rcon_password"] [-a127.0.0.1] [-p27015] command
Use with remote hosts, or use Docker network (172.17.0 -network) to connect directly any container running in same host.
This has been used with Steam game, ARK: Survival Evolved. However used rcon client doesn't have anything ARK: Survival Evolved specific, so any Steam game (or any service using RCON protocol) should work just fine.
Listing players who are connected to server, showing also their SteamID
docker run -ti --rm kerbe/rcon -P"secretpassword" -a172.17.0.2 -p27020 listplayers
Sending global broadcast to all players:
docker run -ti --rm kerbe/rcon -P"secretpassword" -a172.17.0.2 -p27020 broadcast "This is broadcast that is visible to all players.\n It is shown on top of screen, similar way as MOTD when joining server. \n Use \n to force line change."
Sending message to chat to all players (differs from broadcast, that it is shown there in history, while broadcast disappears after timeout):
docker run -ti --rm kerbe/rcon -P"secretpassword" -a172.17.0.2 -p27020 serverchat "Hello all new players! Welcome to this server!"
