kevac/nimble-streamer repository overview

Nimble streamer docker container

This repository providers a nimble streamer server instance.

The container exposes both HTTP (80) and RTMP (1935) ports.

Nimble streamer is a "freemium" product which can be used for free, but a configuration documentation is not available when it comes to streaming rules.

Your best bet is to start by managing the instance through their paid WMSPanel service and evaluate your best use case.

Usage

Pull image from Docker Hub:

docker pull kevac/nimble-streamer

a) Run the image with WMSPanel:
You have to pass your WMSPanel username and password on first start to register the instance. On subsequent starts you don't need to do that.

docker run -p 80:80 -p 1935:1935 \
    -e [email protected] \
    -e WMSPANEL_PASS=super_secure_password \
    --name nimble kevac/nimble-streamer

b) Run the image without WMSPanel:
If you are familiar with the configuration of a Nimble streamer instance you can omit using WMSPanel entirely.
Remember that you have to set the configuration files (/etc/nimble/nimble.conf & /etc/nimble/rules.conf) manually by mounting them into the container or creating your own image.

docker run -p 80:80 -p 1935:1935 \
    -e DISABLE_WMSPANEL=true \
    --name nimble kevac/nimble-streamer

Notes

If you use WMSPanel to manage the server the app will store all configuration settings under /etc/nimble/.

If you change your username and/or password, and need to register the server again, you should remove the /etc/nimble/is_registered file and restart the container, providing the new user and pass.
