kosday/linkar-web-services repository overview

Docker version is similar to Linux version.

There are two configuration files, appsettings.json and config.db.

config.db is a sql database file that stores all the data from the generated API, including definitions for the ApiResources, Clients, Identity Resources, ApiKeys, Custom EndPoints, etc. All data from this file can be managed from LinkarWS Manager.

appsettings.json is the LinkarWS general settings file. Contains several sections for the web server configuration (Kestrel node) and the configuration of the LinkarWS application (Linkar node). All parameters from this file can be managed from LinkarWS Manager.

Installation

install LinkarWS Docker version, the first step is downloading the container image to the user's Dockers system: docker pull kosday/linkar-web-services:x.y.z

Preparing the execution

LinkarWS Docker version it's a compiled application for Linux installed in the container's folder /usr/linkarWS. Run the application for the first time with the following command:

docker run /it kosday/linkar-web-services:x.y.z -p 32000:12000

Where “x”, “y” and “z” stand for the numbers corresponding to the program version you want to execute.

This first execution uses a basic appsettings.json file only with the http access enabled and the following url:

http://*:12000

config.db database file is empty at first. To access LinkarWS Manager, enter the following link in a web browser external to the docker:

http://[IP]:32000

[IP] is the IP address or hostname of the machine where the docker is running.

Once having configuration files with data, these can be referenced internally through docker execution via -v arguments. For example, if we had these files in /usr/docker.data folder, the way of running the docker would be:

sudo docker run –it kosday/linkarws:x.y.z -p 32000:12000\
     -v /usr/docker.data/appsettings.json:/usr/linkarWS/appsettings.json\
     -v /usr/docker.data/config.db:/usr/linkarWS/config.db

In the same way we could include Swagger json files. These are located in /usr/linkarWS/wwwroot/swagger/docs folder. Where x.y.z stand for the corresponding LinkarWS version tag. For example:

 docker pull kosday/linkar-web-services:1.1.1.0
