kotocoop/node-android-sdk repository overview

Android + Node.js + JDK Build Image

This image provides a lightweight environment for building and publishing Android applications using Node.js, OpenJDK, and the Android SDK.

It is intended for use in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) where reproducible builds are critical.

You can find the source repo here

Included Components

  • Node.js 24.6 (from library/node)
  • OpenJDK 21 (from eclipse-temurin)
  • Android SDK (extracted from docker-android-sdk)
    • Platform tools
    • Build tools
    • Platforms
    • Command-line tools
    • Licenses pre-accepted

Additionally:

  • JAVA_HOME and ANDROID_HOME are preconfigured
  • sdkmanager and npm are available in $PATH
  • Global NativeScript CLI (nativescript) is installed

Tagging Strategy

This project uses semantic versioning combined with base image versions to ensure clarity and Renovate compatibility.

Each tag has the format: <semver>-node<node-version>-jdk<jdk-version>

For example:

  • 1.0.0-node24.6-jdk21
  • 1.0.1-node24.6-jdk21
  • 1.1.0-node24.7-jdk21
  • 2.0.0-node26-jdk22
How it works
  • Node.js version and JDK version are parsed automatically from the Dockerfile.
  • Semantic version (X.Y.Z) increments with each new build batch on a publish_* branch.
  • This ensures that when either the Node or JDK base changes, a new tag family starts.
