ksuderman/galaxy-stable repository overview

Due to problems with VirtualBox shared folders on OS X Docker/Boot2Docker users (even root) are unable to chown/chmod files or directories in shared volumes. This inevitably leads to various permission denied errors as various services attempt to create files. This Docker images makes two minor tweaks to Björn Gruening's docker-galaxy-stable image:

  1. Uses 1000:1000 for the galaxy user's uid:gid. This is the same uid:gid of the docker user in the VirtualBox VM (the owner of all files in the shared volume) which makes galaxy the owner in the container.
  2. Starts Postgres with service postgresql start as supervisord is unhappy with the permissions in the /export/postgresql directory.
