Dummy Cloud

This website is designed for Gaurav Sharma's YouTube channel and his courses that are published on courses.learning-ocean.com, learning-ocean.com. Visit the website for learning purposes.

Quick Start

To quickly start the Dummy Cloud application using Docker, run the following command:

docker container run -itd -p 8080:8080 learningocean/dummycloud:latest
  • Default Username: admin
  • Default Password: admin

Using Docker Compose

Create a docker-compose.yml file:
version: "3.8"
services:
  dummycloud:
    image: learningocean/dummycloud:latest
    ports:
      - "8080:8080"
    environment:
      USERNAME: "admin"
      PASSWORD: "admin"
      CREATE_TIME: 1
      UPDATE_TIME: 1
      DELETE_TIME: 1
      HOST_IP: YOUR_HOST_IP
    volumes:
      - data-volume:/data
volumes:
  data-volume:
Run the Docker container using Docker Compose:
docker-compose up

This command will start the Dummy Cloud application on port 8080.

Username and Password
  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin
Changing Configurations / Environment Variables

You can change the configuration by setting environment variables in the docker-compose.yml file. Here are the available environment variables:

  • USERNAME: The username for the application. Default is admin.
  • PASSWORD: The password for the application. Default is admin.
  • CREATE_TIME: Set the create time (example value: 1).
  • UPDATE_TIME: Set the update time (example value: 1).
  • DELETE_TIME: Set the delete time (example value: 1).
  • HOST_IP: Set the host IP address (example value: 192.168.29.27).

To change these values, modify the environment section in the docker-compose.yml file:

services:
  dummycloud:
    image: learningocean/dummycloud:latest
    ports:
      - "8080:8080"
    environment:
      USERNAME: "your-username"
      PASSWORD: "your-password"
      CREATE_TIME: 1
      UPDATE_TIME: 1
      DELETE_TIME: 1
      HOST_IP: "your-host-ip"
    volumes:
      - data-volume:/data
Using Volumes

The Dummy Cloud application uses a Docker volume to persist data. The volume is defined in the docker-compose.yml file:

volumes:
  data-volume:

This volume is mounted to the /data directory inside the container, ensuring that your data persists even if the container is stopped or removed.

To use a specific host directory for the volume, you can modify the volumes section in the docker-compose.yml file like this:

volumes:
  data-volume:
    driver: local
    driver_opts:
      type: none
      device: /path/to/host/data
      o: bind

Replace /path/to/host/data with the actual path on your host machine where you want to store the data.
