lenasupport/lena-cluster repository overview

This repository is used for development. So, images are not available for outside of LENA Lab internal use.

LENA Application Server Docker image

This is an example Dockerfile with LENA application server (Exclusive Edition)
This image is built from lena-base image .

Usage

To boot in standalone mode

docker run -itd -p 8180:8180 lenasupport/lena-exclusive:tagname

To boot in standalone mode with auto registration to LENA manager console in remote.

docker run -itd -p 8180:8180 lenasupport/lena-exclusive-dev:tagname -as ${MANGER_ADDRESS:UDP_PORT} -ci ${CONTAINER_ID}

  • ${MANGER_ADDRESS:UDP_PORT} means the IPAddress:UdpServicePort. (ex 172.17.0.2:16100)
  • ${CONTAINER_ID} means the Id of container group which is managed in LENA Manager.
To boot in standalone mode with download configuration files from LENA manager.

docker run -itd -p 8180:8180 lenasupport/lena-exclusive-dev:tagname -r ${MANGER_ADDRESS:SERVICE_PORT} -ci ${CONTAINER_ID} -dt Y -key ${ACCESS_KEY}

  • ${MANGER_ADDRESS:SERVICE_PORT} means the IPAddress:WebServicePort. (ex 172.17.0.2:7700)
  • ${CONTAINER_ID} means the Id of container group which is managed in LENA Manager.
  • ${ACCESS_KEY} means the key value which is used to access to LENA manager, this can be acquired from LENA manager web console.
Application deployment

With LENA application server you can deploy your application in two ways:

  • You can use CLI
  • You can use the LENA manager web console

Simply, you can deploy a web application to drop the archive file to dir '/engn001/lena/1.3/servers/appServer/webapps'. More simply you can do it through LENA Manager web console.

Create your own docker image

Create Dockerfile with following content:

  • FROM lenasupport/lena-exclusive:tag
  • Place your war file in the same directory as your Dockerfile.
  • ADD your war to /engn001/lena/1.3/servers/appServer/webapps/
  • Run the build with docker build --tag your-own-tag.
  • Run the container. Application will be deployed on the container boot.
Customizing configuration

Sometimes you need to customize the application server configuration. There two ways to do it and this blog post tries to summarize it.

  • You can use CLI
  • You can use the LENA manager web console

The directory '/engn001/lena/1.3/servers/appServer/' is the home of application server. By updating configuration files, you can custmize cofigurations.
And you can do it, via LENA manager console if your application server is registered to LENA Manager.

Specially the Max Heap Memory size is set as 1024m and Max Metaspace Size is set to 128m. You can reset it by updating /engn001/lena/1.3/servers/appServer/bin/setenv.sh file.

Logging

LENA write server logs to dir '/engn001/lena/1.3/servers/appServer/logs/'. You can get it by specifying volume with docker -v, and it can be changed with docker-entrypoint.sh option '-ld your-own-log-directory'. A sample is like below.

  • docker run -itd -p 8180:8180 lenasupport/lena-exclusive:tagname -lo file -ld /engn001/lena/logs

And you can config 'LOG output' to standard out with docker-entrypoint.sh option '-lo console'. A sample is like below.

  • docker run -itd -p 8180:8180 lenasupport/lena-exclusive:tagname -lo console
Version History

Tag prefixed 1.3.0e.1 is not supported any more, there are many changed in tag 1.3.1e.
