Identify viral sequences from metagenomes
640
Hecatomb is a tool to identify viral sequences in metagenomes and viromes. Hecatomb was published in GigaScience.
Hecatomb works by filtering your sequences against several databases to identify both true positives and false positives, and culls the erroneous sequences that are nothing to do with viruses.
This docker image contains all the software and databases required for hecatomb to run, and does not need to install anything else.
If you are running hecatomb on an HPC, we recommend using this docker image to create a singularity image and then run that on your HPC.
To build a singularity image:
export SINGULARITY_TMPDIR=/home/user/tmp # set this to the full path of a temporary directory!
module load singularity/4.1.0 ## you will want to change this per your singularity install
mkdir sif
singularity pull --dir sif docker://linsalrob/hecatomb:v1.3.2_37c06e3a9f8a
This image will have a /hecatomb path that you can mount data to for reading and writing. More instructions to follow.
