luccpl/githubsync repository overview

This Docker image, based on Python 3.9, is designed to automate the synchronization of a repository with a server using GitHub Workflows. It accepts the following environment variables for configuration:

  • GITHUB_TOKEN: GitHub authentication token.
  • GITHUB_REPO: The GitHub repository in the format "user/repository" that will be synchronized.
  • GITHUB_BRANCH: The specific branch on GitHub that will be synchronized.
  • HTTP_USER: User for HTTP authentication.
  • HTTP_PASS: Password for HTTP authentication.

Upon initialization, the application clone the specified repository into the /app/repo/ directory if it doesn't already exist then starts a local server at port :8080 that accepts GET requests with Basic Auth. This request will perform a reset to ensure a clean state then pull the latest changes from the repository's origin.

By leveraging this Docker image with a GitHub workflow, you can effortlessly keep your server updated with the latest changes from the repository. This simplifies the process of maintaining synchronization between your codebase and the deployed server.

Feel free to utilize this image to automate and streamline your repository synchronization workflow with GitHub Workflows!
