markuta/adblock repository overview

Description

The image is based on the awesome work by Eric Draken, who reverse engineered and discovered a flaw in the Protobuf format which YouTube uses to push Ads on its service.

This image uses a specific version of mitmproxy 7.0.4 along with a script by Eric Draken, that has been slightly modified to disable Transparent Mode. The way it works is, you spin up a container using your chosen HTTP proxy ports, install a self-signed certificate on the client, and configure network proxy settings to point to the container.

Note: This image only blocks Ads on YouTube. It's also likely that this method will no longer work in the future.
