It\nmight be possible to make it work, if symbolic links and long paths can be\nenabled.\n\nOpen `secpol.msc`, navigate to `local strategies`, `user rights` and check who\ncan `create symbolic links`. For Windows 7, the default value seems to be\n`Administrator` only. Run `git bash` or `cygwin` (or any other command line\nprogram used to boot vagrant) as Administrator. Now you should be able to\ncreate symbolic links.\n\nIf you cannot run vagrant with symbolic link creation right, then it would be\nbetter to stop here. It would probably be far more easier to virtualize\na GNU/Linux end-user distribution on the Windows host.\n\nNow that symbolic links are enabled on the Windows host, configure vagrant to\nmount a shared folder using the Windows long path support and symbolic links.\nAdd the following options in the Vagrantfile:\n\n```ruby\n# Replace 'vagrant' by the user name used when logging in the guest\n$mount_sharedfolder = <\n\tcom.github.trecloux\n\tyeoman-maven-plugin\n\t0.4\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tbuild\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\tinstall --no-color --allow-root\n\t\n\n```\n\nRun the container and mount the maven project in a volume:\n\n```sh\ndocker run --rm -it -v $PWD:/usr/src/app pbarnoux/maven-angular\n```\n\nInside the container:\n\n```sh\n# run maven once yo has scaffolded your project\nmvn clean install\n```\n\n### Redirect ports when deploying in a server\n\nDeveloppers deploying their war in container managed by some maven plugin may\nwant to access their application from their host. Configure port forwarding to\ndo so:\n\n```sh\ndocker run --rm -it -p 8080:8080 pbarnoux/maven-angular\n```\n\nInside the container start the maven plugin deploying your war in a server:\n\n```sh\nmvn some_plugin:run\n```\n\n#### Windows + Vagrant + Docker\n\nWindows users running docker container inside a vagrant guest VM should add the\nfollowing line to their Vagrantfile:\n\n```ruby\nVagrant.configure(\"2\") do |config|\n # ...\n\tconfig.vm.network \"forwarded_port\", guest: 8080, host: 31415\nend\n```\n\nThe application should then be accessible from localhost:31415.\n\n### Avoid downloading the Internet when building with Maven\n\nStart the container and mount a volume pointing to your local $HOME/.m2 folder:\n\n```sh\ndocker run --rm -it -v /home/vagrant/.m2:/root/.m2 pbarnoux/maven-angular\n```\n\n#### Windows + Vagrant + Docker\n\nWindows users running docker container inside a vagrant guest VM should add the\nfollowing line to their Vagrantfile:\n\n```ruby\nVagrant.configure(\"2\") do |config|\n # ...\n config.vm.synced_folder \"#{ENV['HOME']}/.m2\", \"/home/vagrant/.m2\"\nend\n```\n\nReplace `vagrant` with the correct user name if your VM is configured to use\nanother login name.\n\n## Blending everything with docker compose\n\nSpecifying volumes, ports and environment variables for each docker command may\nbecome cumbersome at some point. Drop a docker-compose.yml file at the root of\nthe project and define some goals, for instance:\n\n```yml\ndeploywar:\n image: pbarnoux/maven-angular\n volumes:\n - $HOME/.m2:/root/.m2\n - .:/usr/src/app\n ports:\n - \"8080:8080\"\n working_dir: /usr/src/app\n environment:\n http_proxy: http://proxy-host:31415\n yo_dir: /usr/src/app/my_war_module/yo\n command: /bin/bash -cl 'mvn install && mvn ...'\n\nothergoal:\n\timage: pbarnoux/maven-angular\n\t...\n```\n\nThen to run the maven install, the command is:\n\n```sh\ndocker-compose run --rm --service-ports deploywar [alternative command]\n```\n\nNote that:\n- running docker or docker-compose with the run argument loads /bin/sh. To make\n sure to loads the environment, use /bin/bash *-cl* 'your command' to start\n bash as a login shell;\n- the --service-ports flag is mandatory only if you want to forward ports.\n\n### Included software licence\n\nThis image ships with an Oracle JDK 8.
