⁠Docker Electroneum CPU Miner based on XMRig v2.4.3

This is a containerized installation of XMRig with Docker base on Alpine Linux, and it's a match made in heaven for us all to enjoy. The aim of this image is to keep the installation as straight forward as possible, but with a few Docker related twists. You can get started by checking out the next chapter.

⁠I'm in the fast lane! Get me started

To quickly get started running a Electroneum Miner instance for example mine.xmrpool.net, use the following command:

sudo docker run -itd -e POOL_URL='stratum+tcp://pool.etn.spacepools.org:3333' -e POOL_USER='{YOUR_WALLET_ID}' -e POOL_PW='x' masterroshi/electroneum-miner

⁠Scheduling matters! Get me started

There are multiple reasons that a miner should only run within a specific time-range. This container provides a scheduling functionality to solve this problem. We are going to look into some common use cases to provide a thorough understanding of the functionality and to enable you to be able to tailor it to your needs. For further references check the configuration options in the last chapter.

Important Note: The miner only starts at the exact "START_TIME". E.g. If you run the container at 07.04 and you've defined 07.00 as the start day, the next run of the miner will be tomorrow at 07.00. Further the parameter "DAYS" is working together with "START_TIME" and indicates a week day. Finally the timezone is GMT +0 so you have use this timezone to base your settings on.

⁠Example I: Weekend

In this example we will setup a container that will only run the miner on weekend days.

sudo docker run -itd -e POOL_URL='stratum+tcp://pool.etn.spacepools.org:3333' -e POOL_USER='{YOUR_WALLET_ID}' -e POOL_PW='x' -e USE_SCHEDULER='true' -e START_TIME='0001' -e STOP_TIME='2359' -e DAYS='Saturday,Sunday' masterroshi/xmrig-alpine

⁠Example II: Daily from 21.00-06.00

In many companies it could be interesting to power on a miner during off-work time. The example bellow will fire the miner everyday from 21.00-06.00.

sudo docker run -itd -e POOL_URL='stratum+tcp://pool.etn.spacepools.org:3333' -e POOL_USER='{YOUR_WALLET_ID}' -e POOL_PW='x' -e USE_SCHEDULER='true' -e START_TIME='2100' -e STOP_TIME='0600' -e DAYS='Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday,Sunday' masterroshi/xmrig-alpine

⁠Example III: Workdays from 21.00-06.00 & Weekend whole day

If you want to achieve a complex time scheduling to maximize your profit. This example will be the right one for you. We are going to setup a schedule that works from monday - friday (21.00-06.00) and on saturday & sunday the entire day. To achieve this requirement we have to create two containers, one for the working days and one for the weekend.

⁠Configuration

You can configure a small set of things by supplying the following environment variables

Note for MAX_CPU: This option just change the thread count. If you have just one core, it will use one thread, so it will be always 100% For 2 cores, minimum is 50% For 4, 25%.

Note for Time: Default Timezone is GMT +0
