Download the latest version of vSphere CLI for vSphere 5.5 from here:[https://developercenter.vmware.com/web/dp/tool/vsphere_cli/5.5](https://developercenter.vmware.com/web/dp/tool/vsphere_cli/5.5)\n 2. Download the latest version of VMware OVF Tool for Linux 64-bit from here:[https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=OVFTOOL410&productId=491](https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=OVFTOOL410&productId=491)\n 3. Download the latest version of vSphere Virtual DIska Manager for Linux 64-bit from here:[https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=VDDK554&productId=353](https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=VDDK554&productId=353)\n 4. Download the latest version of the vRealize Cloud Client from here:[http://developercenter.vmware.com/web/dp/tool/cloudclient/3.1.0](http://developercenter.vmware.com/web/dp/tool/cloudclient/3.1.0)\n 5. Download / Clone the Dockerfile from this project\n\nNext, you will need to create a new directory to store the five files you have just downloaded. In this example, I have just created a simple directory called \"vmware-utils\" and here is an example of the directory structure:\n \n vmware-utils\n ├── Dockerfile\n ├── VMware-ovftool-4.1.0-2459827-lin.x86_64.bundle\n ├── VMware-vSphere-CLI-5.5.0-2043780.x86_64.tar.gz\n ├── VMware-vix-disklib-5.5.4-2454786.x86_64.tar.gz\n └── cloudclient-3.2.0-2594179-dist.zip\n \n\nNow you are ready to build your container!\n\n## [](https://github.com/alanrenouf/vmware-utils#build-container)Build Container\n\n 1. Change into the vmware-utils directory\n\n 2. Run the following command to build the Container and provide a tag for this particular build, an example would be mba811/vmware-utils\n \n $ sudo docker build -t mba811/vmware-utils .\n\n## [](https://github.com/alanrenouf/vmware-utils#run-container)Run Container\n\nOnce the Container has been sucessfully built, you can run it using the following command:\n \n $ sudo docker run --rm -it mba811/vmware-utils\n\nAt this point you are now logged into the Container that you have just built and you can see a few of the tools that have been installed\n \n root@9fcb6949d2c6:~# ls\n cloudclient-3.1.0-2375258 pyvmomi src vghetto\n\n## [](https://github.com/alanrenouf/vmware-utils#accessing-vcli-commands)Accessing vCLI Commands\n \n root@9fcb6949d2c6:~# vicfg-\n vicfg-advcfg vicfg-dns vicfg-ipsec vicfg-mpath vicfg-nics vicfg-route vicfg-syslog vicfg-volume\n vicfg-authconfig vicfg-dumppart vicfg-iscsi vicfg-mpath35 vicfg-ntp vicfg-scsidevs vicfg-user vicfg-vswitch\n vicfg-cfgbackup vicfg-hostops vicfg-module vicfg-nas vicfg-rescan vicfg-snmp vicfg-vmknic\n\n## [](https://github.com/alanrenouf/vmware-utils#accessing-vghetto-script-repository)Accessing vGhetto Script Repository\n \n root@9fcb6949d2c6:~# ls vghetto/\n README.md batch other perl php powershell puppet python ruby shell\n\n## [](https://github.com/alanrenouf/vmware-utils#accessing-ovf-tool)Accessing OVF Tool\n \n root@9fcb6949d2c6:~# ovftool\n Error: No source or target specified.
