medined/eureka-server repository overview

This is an image of Eureka based on Spring Boot v2.3.0.RELEASE. It's quite easy to use.

Here is the Dockerfile. I have the docker related files in a docker subdirectory.

# Run-time image that makes the final image
FROM gcr.io/distroless/java:11
COPY app.jar /app/app.jar

EXPOSE 8761

# When using distroless, entrypoint must be in vector form.
ENTRYPOINT ["java","-jar","/app/app.jar"]

Here is src/main/application.properties

eureka:
  client:
    registerWithEureka: false
    fetchRegistry: false
server:
  port: 8761

How the image was built. This is just building the Eureka sources.

 ./gradlew bootJar
 cp ./build/libs/eureka-server-2.3.0.RELEASE.jar docker/app.jar
pushd docker > /dev/null
docker build -t medined/eureka-server:2.3.0.RELEASE
popd > /dev/null

I start the container like this:

    docker run \
    --name eureka-server \
    -it \
    --detach \
    --publish 8761:8761 \
    medined/eureka-server:2.3.0.RELEASE
