⁠Metered Video Python Backend Demo

This docker container contains the Python+Flask backend of the video call demo application.

This docker container contains the python backend.

⁠Requirements

You need to have a Metered Video⁠ account, to create an account go to https://www.metered.ca⁠ -> Signup and Start Building and signup for a free account.

After you have signed up, go to your dashboard->Developers from there copy the Metered Domain and Metered Secret Key.

⁠Running

To start the docker container run the command

docker pull metered/python-video-demo

docker run -p 5000:5000 -e METERED_SECRET_KEY=YOUR_METERED_SECRET -e METERED_DOMAIN=YOUR_METERED_DOMAIN metered/python-video-demo

The backend server will be avaliable at http://localhost:5000

⁠Running Front-End Docker Container

Pull the front-end docker container: https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/metered/react-video-demo⁠

docker pull metered/react-video-demo

Run the docker container

docker run -p 3000:3000 metered/react-video-demo

⁠Front-End Without Docker Container

To start the front-end, go the github repo of the project: https://github.com/metered-ca/python-react-video-chat-app⁠

Clone the repo

git clone https://github.com/metered-ca/python-react-video-chat-app

cd into the front-end directory

cd python-react-video-chat-app
cd react-front-end

Install the dependencies

npm install

Start the front-end

npm run start

The front-end will be avalialbe at http://localhost:3000
