IBM DataPower Gateway is a single multi-channel gateway designed to help provide security, control, integration and optimized access to a full range of mobile, web, application programming interface (API), B2B and cloud workloads.

This Image will provide you some pre-build Datapower objects which will be helpful for beginners to start experiencing Datapower.

This image is build by taking ibmcom/datapower:latest as base image from IBM repository.


Supported Tags:

version1 -> You will be given a demo loop-back service configured along with below objects:

  1. ssl-server-profile-demo : SSL server Profile
  2. ssl-idcred-demo : Identification Credentials
  3. service-cert-demo : crypto certificate object.
  4. service-key-demo : crypto key object

You will get below services running on mention ports -

  1. Telnet service : 5080
  2. SSH service : 5050
  3. XML management Interface : 5000
  4. Loopback service : 5051

Minimum Requirements :

This image requires a minimum of 4GB RAM and 2 CPUs.


License Acceptance :

You need to accept the licence by running below command -

docker run -e DATAPOWER_ACCEPT_LICENSE=true middlewareaman/datapower_av:version1


The DATAPOWER_LOG_STDOUT=true and DATAPOWER_LOG_COLOR=true environment variables are set in this image -

You can view them by giving : "docker inspect middlewareaman/datapower_av:version1"



⁠Full Command :

docker run -d --name dpcontainer -v C:\Users\CHROME\config:/drouter/config -v C:\Users\CHROME\local:/drouter/local -e DATAPOWER_ACCEPT_LICENSE=true -e DATAPOWER_INTERACTIVE=true -e DATAPOWER_WORKER_THREADS=4 -p 9090:9090 -p 5000-6000:5000-6000 middlewareaman/datapower_av:version1

Explanation of the above command :


  1. run -it : "-i" will run image in interactive mode and -t is used for TTY.
  2. -v : is used to map the drouter directories to local system directories.
  3. -e : to set environment variables.
  4. -p : to expose ports of docker container ans map them to outside host machine.
  5. middlewareaman/datapower_av:version1 : Image name
  6. --name : to give a name to your container.
