Performance-tuned Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble) base image used as the foundation for Mike Hajj’s layered stack:

ubuntu:24.04 → faster-ubuntu → faster-nginx → faster-php / faster-nodejs

⁠Why this image

• Raised OS limits (file descriptors, backlog, connections) for busier web/DB workloads
• Common ops tools baked in
• Pinned to 24.04 — do not use ubuntu:latest (26.04+ dropped apt wkhtmltopdf)

⁠Includes

Tuned configs: limits.conf, common-session, sysctl.conf
Packages: pv, vim, curl, openssl, gnupg, wget, openssh-client, unzip, git, jq, sendmail, wkhtmltopdf
