Authentication & Security

  • Hexclave Integration: Secure hosted authentication with Minmo app-local tokens
  • Role-Based Access: Features and navigation adapt based on user role
  • Data Isolation: Partners see only their network data
  • API Key Management: Role-appropriate API key creation and management
  • Audit Logging: All user actions logged with proper context and permissions

Getting Started

Development Setup
# Install dependencies
npm install

# Run development server
npm run dev

# Open browser to http://localhost:3000
Environment Configuration

Ensure the following environment variables are configured:

NEXT_PUBLIC_API_URL=http://localhost:3001
AUTH_URL=http://localhost:3002
Authentication Flow
  1. User navigates to console application
  2. Redirected to the Minmo auth app for hosted authentication
  3. Upon successful login, the console exchanges a handoff code for app-local tokens
  4. Console application reads roles and configures appropriate interface
  5. User sees role-specific dashboard and features

Technical Architecture

  • Framework: Next.js 14 with App Router
  • Authentication: Hexclave-backed hosted auth with Minmo app-local tokens
  • State Management: React Query for server state, Zustand for client state
  • UI Components: Custom component library with Tailwind CSS
  • API Integration: RESTful API with role-based endpoint access
  • Security: Role-based rendering, permission checks, and data scoping

Contributing

When developing console features:

  1. Role Awareness: Always consider which roles should access each feature
  2. Data Scoping: Ensure data is properly filtered based on user context
  3. Permission Checks: Implement both frontend and backend permission validation
  4. User Experience: Design intuitive interfaces that adapt to user capabilities
  5. Security: Follow security best practices for authentication and authorization
