⁠Remote desktop container

Current rough draft / alpha version

A base image for containers that require a remote desktop connection. The image is derived from https://github.com/SeleniumHQ/docker-selenium/blob/e3304b41619d6e88377836c2fe09e0fcd81a917a/⁠

docker run --rm --detach --publish 5900:5900 --publish 7900:7900 --shm-size="2g" miscstuff/remote-desktop:0.1-alpha2

Optionally set environment variables to configure the display size used by the container: --env DEV_SCREEN_WIDTH=nnnn --env DEV_SCREEN_HEIGHT=nnn

View using noVNC http://localhost:7900/?autoconnect=1&resize=scale&password=secret⁠ or use VNC to connect to localhost:5900 with password secret.

A full list of environment variables that can be used to configure the running container can be obtained using docker inspect.

The entrypoint for this image is run as a non-privileged user, devuser. To extend the image the first build step should switch to user root and the last build step should switch to user devuser.
