This image is the Library File System(LFS) for The Machine developed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The lfs is the library that organizes the information shared between nodes. To learn more about The Machine and how to emulate it on your host go to https://github.com/FabricAttachedMemory. From there you can clone the Fabric Attached Memory Emulation repo that creates the individual nodes. The librarian can also be cloned from a repo, but the image provided here is more user friendly and easier to set up.
To Run: sudo docker run -i -p 9093:9093 mmkala/lfs
Dockerfile: FROM bitnami/minideb:jessie
WORKDIR /librarian
EXPOSE 9093
RUN apt-get update RUN apt-get -qy install python3 RUN apt-get -qy install git
ADD script.sh /librarian RUN git clone https://github.com/FabricAttachedMemory/tm-librarian.git
ENTRYPOINT ["./script.sh"]
To minimize size a smaller debian image was used. In order to run the lfs, python3 needs to be installed as well as the dependencies required to clone from the github repo. The port 9093 is what the nodes listen to and is required. The file called script.sh is a bash script that runs in the container, which will register books (if not already done), write a database file, and run the librarian program. The arguments for the bash script is read from the run command given to Docker.
If the image will be run with proxies make sure the environment variables are set for the Docker daemon. These can be set up here: https://docs.docker.com/engine/admin/systemd/#httphttps-proxy
