This guide explains how to build, run, and customize the Community Edition of MyKino using Docker.
The Community Edition is a "clean" version of the app designed specifically for self-hosting. Compared to the production build seen on mykino.app, it:
/ automatically takes you to the app shell (/app).If you are using a pre-built community image:
docker run -d -p 9999:9999 \
-e TMDB_API_KEY=your_tmdb_key \
-e AI_PROVIDER=openai \
-e AI_API_KEY=your_openai_key \
mokhniuk/mykino:community
Access the app at http://localhost:9999.
To build the community version from source, use the --build-arg IS_COMMUNITY=true flag:
docker build --build-arg IS_COMMUNITY=true -t mykino:community .
Alternatively, use the convenient npm script:
npm run build:community
All configuration is done via environment variables at runtime.
