Simple image which uses a Python program to artificially generate load on a processor.
260
This image uses https://github.com/molguin92/CPULoadGenerator to generate artificial load on user-provided CPU cores of a system.
Using docker run, just pass the desired arguments to CPULoadGenerator. If running without setting a time limit, don't forget to pass the -t option to docker run to be able to terminate the script using Ctrl-C.
Note that the plot option does not work inside a container.
Generate 20% of load on core 0 for 20 seconds:
docker run -t molguin/cpuload -l 0.2 -d 20 -c 0
Generate 65% load on cores 0, 1 and 5, until the program is interrupted through Ctrl-C:
docker run -t molguin/cpuload -l 0.65 -c 0 -c 1 -c 5
Generate 55% load on core 0, 12% on core 3, until the program is interrupted through Ctrl-C:
docker run -t molguin/cpuload -c 0 -c 3 -l 0.55 -l 0.12
