⁠About this image

This image is based on the standard mssql-server⁠ of Microsoft. This image adds the ability to mount a setup script, which will be executed on startup of the container.

⁠How to use this image

This image can be used just like the standard mssql-server image. For an overview of all the possibilities, go check out the documentation by Microsoft. There are however a few minor differences:

• The deprecated SA_PASSWORD does not work, yYou have to use the MSSQL_SA_PASSWORD environment variable instead.
• You have to mount your database setup SQL script to the container, which has to be mounted to the path /usr/config/setup.sql.

⁠Example

To use this image, we can use it like the following in the Docker compose file:

database:
    image: mypoiworld/mssql-server:2022-CU20-ubuntu-22.04
    environment:
      - ACCEPT_EULA=Y
      - MSSQL_SA_PASSWORD=Str0ngPassw0rd!
    ports:
      - "1433:1433"
    volumes:
      - "./sqldata/data:/var/opt/mssql/data"
      - "./sqldata/logs:/var/opt/mssql/logs"
