Keeps the messages of an IMAP folder in Nacre layers, a template over headers, attachments as files.

Keeps the messages of a mailbox folder in Nacre layers — any server that speaks IMAP. A message is a document, its Message-ID is the external_id, a template over its headers picks its layer, an attachment the index reads is a document of its own, and a message that left the folder is a document that leaves the index. A message's UIDVALIDITY:UID is its version, so a sweep over a large folder downloads only what arrived.
docker run -v imap-state:/state \
-e NACRE_URL=https://nacre.example.com -e NACRE_TOKEN=... \
-e 'IMAP_URL=imaps://archive%40example.com:[email protected]/Archive' \
-e IMAP_SINCE=2026-01-01 -e 'IMAP_LAYER=${header_x_layer|inbox}' \

Identity is the Message-ID rather than the UID on purpose: mail clients re-append a corrected copy of a draft under the same Message-ID, which is a change to one document and not a removal and an add of two. The listing reads the body structure beside the headers, so an attachment's name and type are known without a byte of body downloaded, and an attachment in a format the index reads — PDF, Office, OpenDocument, EPUB, RTF — becomes <message id>/<filename> in the message's layer. IMAP_SINCE bounds the listing by the server's own date, so moving the date forward is a removal. The variables are in the connector's README.
