namedpython/python-opencv-with-gui repository overview

Inherited jjanzic/docker-python3-opencv⁠, thanks and sorry to copying.

• apt-get install libgtk2.0-dev libgtk-3-dev
• make opencv with WITH_GTK=ON

• Python 3.6
• OpenCV 3.4.1
  • WITH_GTK=ON

Availability checked on macOS High Sierra 10.13.4. After pull this image,

1. Install socat (macOS Homebrew) $ brew install socat
2. Listen port 6000 for X $ socat TCP-LISTEN:6000,reuseaddr,fork UNIX-CLIENT:\"$DISPLAY\"
3. Turn on XQuartz (masOS terminal) $ open -a xquartz
4. Check your IP address with ifconfig .
5. Run container $ docker run -it --rm -e DISPLAY={IP-Address} namedpython/python-opencv-with-gui /bin/bash

Gotcha! You could see window of cv2.imshow(..) or some GUI things on the XQuartz on macOS.
