Ancient Firefox embedded with java, so that some ancient web applications such as iLO2 remote console can be opened properly.

The tag is the version of Firefox.

⁠Usage

Install X client on your desktop. For macOS, you can download XQuartz, and for Windows, try VcXsrv or Xming.

⁠Run the ducker

docker run -e DISPLAY=$DISPLAY -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix naolador/firefox-java:tag

Where $DISPLAY can be:

macOS: docker.for.mac.host.internal:0

Windows: host.docker.internal:0

On Linux box, you should use:

docker run -e DISPLAY=:0 -v /tmp/.X11-unix:/tmp/.X11-unix naolador/firefox-java:tag

If you're encountering "cannot open display" issue, set X11Forwarding yes on the sshd_config and on the client side, ssh into the server with the option -X or -Y.

If you're running the docker on your local Linux workstation, remember to issue this command:xhost local:root first.

*Note: you may also need "--net=host" option.

⁠Want to Open JNLP File?

No problems. Just open it with '/usr/lib/java/jdk_1.8.0_211/bin/javaws' while Firefox popped up the "open with" box.
