This is an Ubuntu⁠ based image intended for local Python⁠ AI development. Python version 3.9.18 is installed for compatibility with AI libraries. In addition, libraries and tools typically used for machine learning are included.

This is the full list of Python libraries which are pre-installed:

numpy pandas tensorflow torch icecream tqdm result

Other basic development tools like sudo, git, bat⁠ and ripgrep⁠ are also included. Along with a default user called devuser with the password password. It can be connected to via SSH.

For example, one could run the container using these arguments:

docker run -it --dns 8.8.8.8 -p 0.0.0.0:8080:8081 -p 0.0.0.0:2222:2223 natanfreeman/dev-env-python:latest

You would then be able to connect using SSH like so:

ssh -p 2223 devuser@localhost
