⁠i'm just swaping alpine to this so builder has the few required build toys.

I needed a multistage builder with just a few extra tools ie unzip /unsquash craps.

Like Live Cd iso's etc..

in my use case Gentoo Varriants.. for now i've stuck here. (you could use to bisect your live cd for hacking ie gentoo live resecue dvd with more utils ie dying hard drive and forensic recover tools etc.. )

WORKDIR /gentoo ie needing the epherial chroot of docker and or means of tweaking iso more to my liking woithout a hudge mess. on system or lots of leftovers to clean out and or mounting Host:/packages to docker volume.
if emerge cool-new-toy @ system epic fail......> /he's dead dead Jim ,not fun so why not docker makes the best victim.. can run /bin/bash in docker shell do my building etc..

7z x /sometemp/my.iso / rm *.trashes...

⁠unsquashfs -f -d /mydistro /sometemp/file.squashfs

clean out lzm / squash after unpacked to /gentoo or /tmproot

next from push /mydistro / wala

RUN USE="features" emerge my-add-on-pkgs wala ... ie binutils with use=mutiarch so Crosscompiles suck less. or pch in gcc etc etc..

in pentoos case can add toys from rust like badtouch etc to live iso..
