⁠httpbin-query

httpbin-query is a QUERY-capable, container-ready distribution of httpbin⁠, maintained by Proxyman⁠. It adds support for the RFC 10008 QUERY HTTP method while preserving the familiar httpbin endpoints and behavior.

QUERY /anything returns the standard httpbin inspection payload. A QUERY request to any other path falls back to the same payload, making this image useful when testing clients, gateways, and proxies that need to handle the QUERY method without dedicated endpoints.

• Runs as an unprivileged user on port 8080.

⁠Pull from Docker Hub

After the Docker Hub repository is published, pull the latest release with:

docker pull nghiatran123/httpbin-query:latest

Run it locally:

docker run --rm --publish 8080:8080 nghiatran123/httpbin-query:latest

curl --request QUERY http://127.0.0.1:8080/anything

For reproducible deployments, use a version tag instead of latest:

docker pull nghiatran123/httpbin-query:<version>

Pushing a v* tag runs the publishing workflow⁠, which publishes both a versioned image and latest to:

ghcr.io/<repository-owner>/httpbin-query

Create and push a release tag:

git tag v0.1.0
git push origin v0.1.0

This project is a derivative of the original httpbin.org⁠ project, created by Kenneth Reitz and its contributors. It is sourced from postmanlabs/httpbin⁠ at commit f8ec666b4d1b654e4ff6aedd356f510dcac09f83⁠.

The original httpbin endpoint design, implementation, tests, and documentation remain the work of the upstream project. Proxyman's changes are limited to RFC 10008 QUERY-method support and the container-release setup. The upstream ISC license⁠ is retained in this repository; see NOTICE⁠ for the complete attribution.

The standalone QUERY patch is available at patches/0001-add-rfc10008-query-method.patch⁠.
