Theia is an open, flexible and extensible cloud & desktop IDE platform. This IDE platform was selected to be part of the SmartCLIDE project.
The SmartCLIDE (smartclide.eu) project will enable organizations on the path to digitalization to accelerate the creation and adoption of Cloud solutions. The innovative smart cloud-native development environment will support creators of cloud services in the discovery, creation, composition, testing, and deployment of full-stack data-centered services and applications in the cloud.
We have created a Docker image already equipped with the basic functionalities of Theia and our three extensions.
By executing the following command, a new Docker container will be created and executed, where the port 3000 is being forward to the local machine.
docker run -d -p 3000:3000 --name theia-smartclide-3extensions nikosnikolaidis/theia-td-creation-patterns
So in the localhost the Theia instance is going to be in: localhost:3000
All the extensions can be found and activated be the View menu and by selecting the extension by their names (Smartclide Design Pattern Selection, Smartclide Service Creation, Smartclide TD and Reusability)
A Theia extension for the selection of one of the patterns, or offer the Wizard option that can help the user decide which pattern is needed according some quick questions. So that the extension creates and/or changes the appropriate java files in order to create their connections and structure according to the selected pattern.
A Theia extension for the calculation of TD principal, TD interest and reusability of the created services is provided. The repository of the theia extension is here. For the backend we have three different repositories created with the Springboot framework (TD Principal, TD Interest, Reusability)
An Eclipse Theia extension for handling the creation or extension of a service. The repository of the Theia extension is included in eclipse-researchlabs in the Service Creation Theia extension. For the backend we have two different repositories created using the Spring framework (Service Creation and Service Creation Testing)
