How to run:

To download a youtube video, find the URL for the youtube video and run the following (replace your-youtube-video-url with the actual URL)

docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/downloads nindate/youtube-dl your-youtube-video-url

To pass any arguments to the youtube-dl command you can pass it as shown in below example which downloads best formats and merges into mp4 format (so that it plays on most players). Again replace your-youtube-video-url with the actual URL.

docker run --rm -v $(pwd):/downloads nindate/youtube-dl -f 'bestvideo[ext=mp4]+bestaudio[ext=m4a]/bestvideo+bestaudio' --merge-output-format mp4 your-youtube-video-url
